Trial blasts
Design and supervision of trial blasts to develop regression curves and site-laws for prediction of far-field vibration.

Probabilistic prediction of far-field vibration and allowable MIC when trial blast data is not available. In addition we can model the cumulative effects of multi-hole detonations on far field vibrations based on single-hole trials.

Blast Design
Efficient, cost effective blast design for civil engineering and mining projects including perimeter control techniques to limit blast damage and vibration, and the prediction of far field vibration.

Perimeter control techniques include pre-split blasting for civil engineering slopes, quarries, and pit slopes, and smooth wall blasting for  tunnels, caverns and shaft sinking. These techniques limit vibration blast damage, overbreak and support requirements resulting in cost reductions.

Diagnostic monitoring and blast design optimisation for the reduction of blast damage, far-field vibration, cycle time, and costs. The special techniques used in diagnostic monitoring enable the detonation sequence to be analysed in detail, especially in the cut where most problems occur. The diagnostic monitoring trace allows each individual delay and the time interval between delays to be identified. Blasting problems such as sympathetic detonations and misfires can be quickly identified and corrected.  Following analysis, reductions in both explosive consumption and drilling times of 20% to 30% percent are typical.

Vibration monitoring to verify compliance with site or statutory vibration limits, including instrumentation of sensitive structures, facilities and adjacent property. Analysis of blast data and production of regression curves for comparison with trial blast results and statutory limits.
